Event description:
Angela Warnick Buchdahl is an American rabbi. She is the first Asian American to be ordained as a rabbi, and the first Asian American to be ordained as a hazzan anywhere in the world. She currently serves as the senior rabbi of Central Synagogue in New York City, the first woman to lead the large Reform congregation in its 180-year history. In collaboration with the Joseph Slifka Center for Jewish Life at Yale, we are excited for the community to learn from Rabbi Buchdahl's life journey. Her talk titled "The Feminist Education of a Korean Rabbi" will be followed by a moderated Q&A with Emily Bazelon, staff writer for The New York Times Magazine, a Lecturer in Law, Senior Research Scholar in Law, and the Truman Capote Fellow for Creative Writing and Law at Yale Law School.
