In cooperation with the Asian American Cultural Center and the member groups of the Asian American Students Alliance, Foundations is a student publication created to fill a serious need in the Asian American community to heighten awareness about ourselves as Asian American students at Yale. It captures the most pivotal moments of our history at Yale so that we can reap the rewards from learning more about the rich history of Asian Americans at Yale University. Included in the publication are a diverse set of stories: the founding of organizations, dramatic protests, incidents of racism and conflict. The stories included in these pages will provoke discussion, incite action, and remind all of us why we are or why we should be involved in the community. These stories are to remind all of us that we are part of a much larger legacy that we must sustain beyond our own time at Yale. Foundations is as much about our future as it is about our past.
